Don Cherry - Music Sangam

The archivists at Heavenly Sweetness roll out yet another priceless masterpiece with their reissue of the Don Cherry – Music/Sangam album. Originally recorded in 1978, this one-day session between trumpeter Don Cherry and Indian percussionist Latif Khan is a gargantuan slice of spaced out soulful jazz. Released by the EUROPA label 3 years after the event in very limited quantities, this album definitely falls into the “rare as” category.

Described by the HS crew as one of their “favourite albums”, the last 18 months of painstaking master tape location, remastering sessions and authentic sleeve duplication has all been worth while. Now some thirty years after its original recording, this rare and forgotten album is available once again for the pleasure of music lovers everywhere…Enjoy!
