Quantic left the West Midlands for Santiago de Cali in Colombia and has lately been creating sun-soaked, light-as-a-feather dub-cumbia-funk magic. Ahead of his new album, ‘Tradition in Transition’, he’s playing records and showing us films and photography at the ICA in London and then in a week later at Audio in Brighton.
Throughout the evening there will be continual screenings of the film shot by B+ on location in Santiago de Cali, and an exhibition of his photographs, giving an evocative and potent glimpse into the rhythms of life in Quantic’s adopted Colombian home – the well-spring of inspiration for ‘Tradition In Transition’.
