Yukimi, Hakan, Erik and Frederik, who make big noises as Little Dragon, will be bringing out their new LP entitled Machine Dreams in August. The album is more experimental and strung-out than the lush, clean and stripped-down sound of their debut album and should see the band picking up a lot of new fans. Word is that they’ll be playing at the Giant Step event in Central Park on July 18th ‘longside Q-Tip and Benji B. 6 days later they’ll be in London, playing the Paul Hamlyn Hall at the Royal Opera House.
For a preview of their new material, check out ‘Fortune’, which sounds a bit like Jean-Jacques Perrey producing Charlotte Gainsbourg. The video was animated by Hideyuki Katsumata who also did the freaky ‘Machine Dreams’ cover.

Excellent album!
Contrasting with the glacial beauty that rippled through their debut, Machine Dreams is far more chirpy, nodding to the 80s. Yukimi’s presence remains the quartet’s star attraction, yet it is the melodies, rhythms and sonic creativity of Hakan, Erik & Frederik which make Little Dragon a fantastic, distinct and original band.
[...] New Little Dragon album sounding [...]
Can’t wait.
