Raydar Ellis at NJMH

Raydar Ellis on Common at the NJMH – Audio

This really is excellent, imagine the best school lesson ever if you love your hip hop and your jazz!

Raydar Ellis is not only a hip hop artist, but also teaches the only hip hop class at Berklee College of Music. Recorded last month, this is a 90 minute lecture, complete with loads of audio, on the evolution of Common’s career culminating in the “Like Water for Chocolate” LP. His audience is the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, and respect as ever is due to Loren Schoenberg and the team up there for not only running these events but also recording them and offering them for free. Enjoy!

Brilliant review!...
Version of S/D/Mofo was unhinged; definitely not ponderous. It was crazy, dirty, wrong...
Stunning photo, whoever took that must really know what they're doing. Oh, good tracks ...
