It’s a new album from Erykah Badu – the follow-up to 2008’s New Amerykah, Part I. From the hype at the time of the last album, this sequel is supposed to be more richly engineered, with more live instrumentation where Part I was all about the loops. However, from the look of the tracklisting it seems to be a similar producer-led affair featuring a lot of familiar faces.

MS Badu, ?uestlove and James Poyser have gone and covered Biggie and Lil Kim’s ‘Get Money’, which sounds good without even hearing it. Erykah also gets on Eddie Kendrick’s ‘Intimate Friends’ like Alicia Keys. And I wonder if Undercover Over-Lover is a nod to this quiet storm number from Smooth? February 2010 is when the album drops.

Brilliant review!...
Version of S/D/Mofo was unhinged; definitely not ponderous. It was crazy, dirty, wrong...
Stunning photo, whoever took that must really know what they're doing. Oh, good tracks ...
