Featured on Mary Anne Hobbs a couple of weeks back, street-bass phenomenon Starkey was thrown down the challenge to create a track from scratch during the course of the 120 minute program. Armed with samples supplied by Radio 1 DJs, dubstep artists and listeners, and joined by vocalist Anneka and percusionist Reso, Starkey delivers a tune within the two-hour time constraint. Gimmicky, sure, and it may not be the ‘ultimate dubstep track’ they set out to make, but it still an impressive end-product that makes for an entertaining seven minutes of video.

The track itself can be downloaded here, or from the official BBC page.

Brilliant review!...
Version of S/D/Mofo was unhinged; definitely not ponderous. It was crazy, dirty, wrong...
Stunning photo, whoever took that must really know what they're doing. Oh, good tracks ...
