Our friends at Put Me On It are starting a new event called the M.F. Social Club – ‘a new platform for independent, specialist and archived music films to be shown in venues which normally host live music events & club nights. The aim is to take music films outside of the traditional passive cinema experience and straight to an audience of music lovers’.

We recently covered the release of the dopeness that is the Dublab / Stones Throw collaboration Secondhand Sureshots documentary (click the link for a refresher), which will be shown on the night alongside Suite For Ma Dukes.

‘One third of the Mochilla’s Timeless documentaries, Suite for Ma Dukes sees the music of James ‘Dilla’ Yancey reworked by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson for a 60 piece live orchestra. Guests include Maureen ‘Ma Dukes’ Yancey, Bilal, Dwele, Amp Fiddler, Illa J, Shafiq Husayn, Talib Kweli, Karriem Riggins & more.’
