Back in May, Jonny Trunk kindly invited us on to his Resonance FM show, OST. Our appearance coincided with SHOOK 008, the film + music issue, which features an article by Jonny on actors who release records. There’s a taster of his text here. At the radio studio in Borough, our host played some records related to his article (and some not). We clustered together our soundtracks and tried not to sound too silly.

To make this all more visually appealing, here’s some covers from records played.

Thanks to Jonny Trunk for inviting us and Paul Camo? for uploading the audio.

I enjoyed listening to SHOOK as a guest on Johnny Trunk’s OST radio show.
But as a reader of Shook magazine I feel the programme did not comment or highlight in depth the attributes I associate with Shook; for example, the cross-cultural reflection on contemporary and historical music movements that have changed the fabric of society here in the UK, in the US and Latin America and the forthcoming focus on the culture, music and politics of South Africa.
As a grownup chap interested in contemporary music tendencies, world culture and the arts, I find Shook magazine clearly summarises different music and cultural tendencies. It is well-written and literary. It has depth beyond a mere focus on contemporary music. The discussion on the radio programme did not reflect the variety and ingenuity of recent features on, for example, the writing of Boris Vian, the WOMEN artists project in Brazil, the filmmaker Barry Jenkins… and many more.
It may have been the problem of the radio interviewer, who did not bring out the best side of the discussants and pursue the broader aspects of the magazine. It would have been great too to have had a mention of the excellent and ground-breaking design of the magazine.
Wishing the whole team well,
Diego Ferrari
