October is deemed to be the UK’s Black History Month, however, for a super special autumnal evening two pillars of their respective circles meet at 3 Blind Mice, Shoreditch. 7s Unda the Stairz welcomes Marc Mac and Paul Gilroy.

It’s been twenty years since Marc Mac (paired with Dego) began releasing Reinforced Records. Since the early days of ‘Mr Kirk’s Nightmare’ to more recent offerings, 4hero continue saying something of note, bringing a jazz schooling to clubs across the capital and beyond.
Author, lecturer, and “soul rebel”, Paul Gilroy humbly refers to himself as a writer. A sagacious gent as deep as the Black Atlantic, Paul is the name in studies of the African diaspora into the western hemisphere. If you’re not clued up, consider switching off your screen and heading to the library.
SHOOK is honoured to be part of this unique pairing, where both men will dig deep in to their record collections, pulling out a selection of their favourite 7″s for the crowd to enjoy. Hope you can come and join us.
