Style Wars hits the big screen in London this weekend with filmmaker Henry Chalfant in attendance for a special Q&A session. SHK caught the summer screening in Brooklyn and if you’ve enjoyed the DVD you gotta check it out on the big screen, it’s easy to forget how heavy the soundtrack is too.
Although director Tony Silver has passed, Chalfant was the link between the production team and the writers, a self-described cultural anthropologist whose access made the film such an incredible experience for anyone interested in New York’s graffiti scene in the late 70s and early 80s. The screening will also function as a fundraiser to have the original negatives restored and preserved.
