Pizza, beer and good jazz are all the ingredients for a perfect Sunday night. Lucky, then, that the Al Scott Trio is performing this Sunday at the Stokey Records Bar, in the basement of the Trattoria Da Luigi.
The trio comprises Al Scott – who’s previously collaborated with the mighty Zed Bias – on keys, Henry Gilbert on double bass and Marco Quarantotto on drums. They play a mixture of original compositions and arrangements inspired by the likes of Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Victor Feldman.
Entry is free, and pizza and beer/wine is a reasonable £6. I can vouch for the pizza. And the beer. And here’s proof the jazz is decent, too.
