Khaled returns home to Alexandria after a few years in the US and discovers that times have changed. Feeling alone and rejected, he wanders the city and soon stumbles into a new world: the underground arts scene. Maybe this is where he belongs? In addition to stringing together vibrant characters and locales, Microphone is a rich depiction of some of the most exceptional non-professional musicians the city has to offer.
